Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?
I was born in Niagara Falls, NY and relocated to North Carolina in August 1998.
Children and Ages?
I have 2 amazing children. My son Camden is almost 3, and daughter Emma is 8 1/2 months old.
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I typically admit to being an open book, so this question was surprisingly tough for me.
Although not terribly exciting, the only thing I can think of is my love for “me time”. I am pretty sociable, love having a good time with family/friends, and am always on the go. Nothing fulfills me more than fun times and memory making, but I also need a little time for me, and only me. That was probably my biggest adjustment to becoming a mom, because 99% of “me time” goes out the window! I wouldn’t change it for the world (as any mom would say), but if I could change anything it’d be for them to just nap and go to bed when you want them to. Ha!
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
As cliché as this sounds, my mother and other mothers in my life. Until you have children, there’s no way you’re fully prepared. Your life completely changes, so having family and friends around who’ve gone through the experience makes a world of difference. I am eternally grateful for their support.
Favorite things to do with your kids?
Parks and Playgrounds! They’re fun, free, and they typically nap well after. What’s there not to love?
Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world?
I was in the corporate world for many years, but after having our second child I surprisingly decided I wanted to stay home. Being someone who loves the business world, and having something of my own however, I decided to take my other talents and passion into business, and created Denma Designs! I have started with an Etsy shop, but plan to expand over time. Denma Designs specializes in Custom and Designed Apparel, Drinkware, and Barware.

What does this community mean to you/How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
This community means everything to me. I’ve lived all around the triangle, but can honestly say when it comes to family, and raising our children, there is no place I’d rather be.
