Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?

I’m originally from Baltimore, Maryland but have lived in North Carolina for almost 14 years, it’s officially home now.

Children and Ages?

I have four children, two homemade and two adopted, they’re 20, 18, 9 & 6.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…

I’ve been a homeschool mama for the past 16 years and still going strong! My oldest two have already graduated and my little ones are in Kindergarten & Third grade.

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?

Hands down my hubby, I couldn’t do this without him! Parenting is the hardest gig ever and I can’t imagine going at it alone and without his support.

What’s your favorite things to do with your kids?

I love the simple things in life, like playing a board game, watching a movie, taking a walk, or baking a treat together.

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world?

I started “Our Blessed NEST” a little over 4 years ago, I had been praying about a way to help support our family and still be at home. My hubby and I had been dreaming for years about a business we could build together, he started building me things for our home, people loved them and wanted to buy them so Our Blessed NEST was born! The acronym NEST stands for our 4 kids names; Nathan, Emily, Samuel, & (Jonathan) Titus, they are our biggest blessings and fill our nest perfectly!

What does this community mean to you/How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?

I am so thankful for this community, especially the women behind it. One of the very first places I started advertising were local Facebook pages for women. They placed so many orders with us, told their friends about us, and have definitely been instrumental in getting our business off the ground.
