Meet Jessica Driscoll | South Wake Raleigh Moms

Jun 17, 2019 | Meet A Mom

We are so excited to feature local Raleigh mom, Jessica Driscoll, for this week’s Meet-A-Mom highlight. You may have seen her gorgeous photos and even have had the opportunity to work with her. Jessica lives in Holly Springs with her husband and two little kiddos. She is currently expanding her photography portfolio and accepting new clients, so be sure to reach out to her for any of your photography needs!

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?

I grew up in Kalamazoo, MI. After that moved to Tampa, FL where I went to college at USF. I stayed in Tampa for a total of about 15 years. I moved here two years ago with my husband and children so we could be closer to family.

Children and Ages?
I have a 5 year old son Justin, and 3 year old daughter Norah.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…

I got married in Oahu at sunrise.

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?

My husband for sure. I couldn’t do it without him!

Favorite things to do with your kids?

I love to go explore the area with them. I love watching their excitement on their faces. We haven’t been able to as much as we’d like because of naptime. However, we are getting to the point where my daughter can go without a nap and we have definitely been taking advantage. We like to take the kids for ice cream, walk around a new area checking out shops and parks, and maybe go to a family friendly brewery. Oh, and probably even more than that would be the beach. We wish we lived on the beach!

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world?

I started a photography business, Norah Patrick Photography, almost one year ago. I have always had an interest in photography, but never made it a priority. Once I stopped my job as an RN and stayed home with the kids, I had an opportunity and I took it!

What does this community mean to you/How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?

I have had the opportunity to work with Liz from South Wake Raleigh Moms. We started an event we plan to continue where we find a local mom who is doing something great for the community. Then we give the mom a day of pampering and I take her headshots. We feature her on our websites to let other local moms know about her and the great things she is doing for our community. We are also planning some other events together that I am looking forward to! So this community means a lot. I hope we can use it to pamper more moms who are making a difference in our community.

Also, I love the Weekend Roundup for ideas of family-friendly things to do on the weekends. I check it out every week and I plan to use it to find ideas to do this spring and summer.
