Growing up, I remember all holidays were made special by my parents. Not just birthdays and Christmas, but also Easter, Halloween, and Valentine’s Day. I enjoy getting my kids something small for these holidays now, too. A small item or two can be so exciting for them! While Valentine’s Day is not my favorite holiday, I love to make it special for my kids.
Check out our South Wake Raleigh Mom’s Valentine’s Gift Guide for Kids:

Dragons Love Tacos Book Set
This book is a favorite in our house! Who doesn’t love tacos? Dragons sure do, just as long as they don’t include spicy salsa! If dragons eat spicy salsa they breathe fire and destroy all that comes in their path. Dragons Love Tacos is light-hearted and so fun for my toddlers. In addition to the book, this special gift set comes with a small plush toy for an added bonus!

Jellycat Unicorn Stuffed Animal
My daughter has always had an obsession with stuffed animals. Our favorite brand is Jellycat for the great quality and softness. Unicorns are all the rage right now, so this would make a great gift for your little girl. For little boys, this is still my son’s favorite stuffed animal.

Shimmering Motion Sand Kit
My kids love arts and crafts. It’s a great way for them to play together indoors, while also using their imagination and creativity. The Shimmering Motion Sand Kit is a favorite and the mess is kept to a minimum. I love that it’s not sticky to them but the kinetic sand is easy to wipe up. The three separate sand colors are great for sharing and creating a variety of cake molds.

LEGO Technic Whack! Building Kit
For older boys, LEGOs are a sure hit! The LEGO Technic Whack! kit provides an opportunity to build something fun – a fast car! Your little engineer will love putting this together and making it a fun event to do with you, too.

Crayola Trolls Light-Up Tracing Pad
Can’t Stop The Feeling! Keeping with the arts and crafts theme, we love the Crayola Trolls Light-Up Tracing Pad! My kids are so entertained when they can practice drawing. The Trolls theme makes it even better!
Happy Valentine’s Day to you and your loved ones!
7 Baby & Toddler Sleep Truths from the author of The Happiest Baby on the Block
In 2001, Dr. Harvey Karp co-founded The Happiest Baby, a multi-media parenting brand that provides advice through bestselling books, videos, and now products. We sat down with him and learned some key sleep truths.
Arugula Corn Pear Salad
This recipe is shared with us from Lauren K. Stein, author of Fresh Made Simple, a family-friendly illustrated cookbook. I like to make this for my family because the kids may not eat “salad” but they are almost certain to eat all the components deconstructed on their plate and some goat cheese spread on crackers.
