May 20, 2019 | Meet A Mom
Meet Modupe Sarumi, new mom to a beautiful little boy, lifestyle blogger, business owner and pharmacist. She really does it all! We got a glimpse into her journey into motherhood and how she keeps it all going while taking care of a new baby.
Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?
I am originally from Nigeria, but I have lived in the US for over 20 years. I currently live in Apex, and I have lived here for over 12 years.
Children and Ages?
I have a wonderful 7 month old miracle son. He was born at 24 weeks and stayed in the NICU for 5 months. Though our NICU journey was long and rough at times, our faith in God and unwavering support from our family and friends kept us going. Our son is home now, and thriving very well. He is indeed a miracle baby.
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
While I appear to always being on the go, I am actually a homebody at heart.
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
Having a close knit with the women (who are also mothers) in my family has been invaluable.
Favorite things to do with your kids?
At this age, we enjoy tummy time, reading, singing and play time that I call “Smiles and Gurgles at 3am”
Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world?

I am a practicing pharmacist by profession and I have a women’s footwear line called Ronke Sarumi Footwear. I recently started an online community called The Mustard Seed Lifestyle where I blog about Motherhood, Faith, Family, Lifestyle (as it pertains to fashion/beauty, travel, decor, food, and entertaining), Health/wellness. You can follow along at Instagram and Twitter.
What does this community mean to you/How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
There is something empowering when women support each other. It fosters great relationships when we can learn from each other and encourage each other. This is an experience that I hope I would have in this community for the common good and betterment of one another.
