It’s no surprise I love to decorate for the holidays – so much so that I decorated early this year! If you’re like me, you’ll want to be sure to add these must-have holiday decorating items to your shopping list. They bring a smile to my kids’ faces, which in turn is fun for us too.

Climbing Santa
The climbing Santa is new to our decorations this year and it’s the current favorite in our house. The kids love watching Santa climb up and down the ladder. He will soon have the tree next to him, which will make this look even better.

Jellycat Elf Stuffed Animal
My kids are obsessed with stuffed animals. Our favorite brand is Jellycat for the great quality and softness. The Jellycat elf is the perfect addition to our decor. Added bonus – our kids can add to their collection!

Spinning Wooden Christmas Village
This wooden table top decoration is my personal favorite. It was purchased last year on sale so watch for those deals! It comes in multiple styles and looks so pretty all lit up!

Kurt Adler Advent Calendar
I searched and searched for the most perfect advent calendar. This Kurt Adler version was by far my favorite for the price. I always loved opening a door on the advent calendar growing up and my kids now can experience and enjoy it each and every December.

Polar Express Battery-powered Train
We got our kids a light-up train for under the tree this year and it makes noise and everything. They’re going to wear the batteries out long before Christmas is here! I particularly like this Polar Express one because who doesn’t love that movie?!?

Wreath Storage Bag
Last but not least, I love to have several of these wreath bags on hand to bag up all the window and door wreaths at the end of the season. The label is especially helpful so that I can label where they go. You gotta have useful items too!
Happy decorating to all and to all a good night!
How to Raise Kids Who Love Reading
We all know how important reading to kids is for their literacy, but what do you do if your children—particularly school age and older—aren’t naturally eager readers?
